For all mystery demo projects, we are following the same high-level methodology below. For every project, we adjust the standard playbook to make sure we collect all the most relevant information about the benchmark companies.

Kickoff Meeting

The first step is always a 1h kickoff meeting with the partner company. Two high-level objectives:

  1. Figure out the high-level and granular project goals.
  2. Define how many, and which, companies we are going to research. We might either go with your suggestions, or research your niche and suggest which companies would be most valuble to research.

Partner Demo

The second step is running a demo with you (if you have a working product, of course). The idea is to understand your own product inside-out, so that we might later ask better questions on the mystery demo meetings (e.g. to ask your competitors about the features you have / don’t have).

This meeting isn’t supposed to be run like a real formal demo meeting. Relax and kick back. We’d like to have a friendly conversation with you and ask you all the possible questions, both comfortable & challenging.

Recording

We’ll embed the recording of the partner demo on the Notion doc.

Transcript

We’ll embed the transcript of the conversation on the Notion doc.

Insights

We’ll analyse the demo and note down all the core insights on the Notion doc (key features, pricing, USP, etc).

Sales Engagement

We document everything that happens before the demo.

Requesting The Demo

We’ll embed a short video that explains what we had to do to book a demo (reach out via email, request it via their website, how many steps and how much time it took). We’ll also include our notes on what we think about the whole process (what could be improved, what our experience was like).
